In Service of Thriving Motherhood
Holistic support and education for birth and postpartum

"I just want you to know how grateful I am for all of your support in the birth of our baby. It was such a rollercoaster ride. You are such a calming, knowledgeable and empowering presence. Our babies birth was a time that could have easily become quite traumatic for me, but instead it will be a time that I remember for strength and love. I will be forever grateful for your impact on our baby's life, thank you isn't enough."

Hi, I'm Rose.

I work with women and families throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum - as an educator and hands-on support person.

I am a trained and certified birth doula, postpartum educator and carer. And I am a big nerd for maternal wellbeing!

From evidence-based research, we know that continuity of care is the gold standard of antenatal care in Australia, with the best outcomes for mother and baby. Sadly, only 8% of Australian women have access to continuity of midwifery care. This is where a doula comes in! We are not meant to be on this path alone, we can share the anxieties, the hopes, the dreams and curiosity with women in our lives, openly and lovingly.

You can see me as a friend who is passionate about all things birth and motherhood. Together we navigate the journey of birth with an understanding of our innate physiological needs as women to birth and raise our babies in safety, strength and peace.

I love attending births and supporting families as they embark on such a huge journey, and through this work I have learned that postpartum is an area that often gets overlooked. We see this in the huge statistics of postnatal mood disorders, postnatal depletion, postpartum pelvic health trauma and more.

I believe that all of the above are symptoms of a culture that has forgotten about the kind of care that new mothers require. There are many other cultures and traditions we can look to, to teach us about the most common global practices used in postpartum recovery worldwide.

Less than 1% of Australian women get the recommended 6 weeks rest postpartum. This is where my work comes in. My background is in community engagement and education, and I bring those skills to my passion as a postpartum educator, helping families prepare for a vulnerable and powerful time in their lives defined by healing, connection and love. Instead of trauma, confusion, isolation and identity-death.

I offer both online and in-person support and workshops.

I have studied as a Dynamo Doula with Angela Gallo, and with Dr Erin Bowe on trauma-informed birth attendance. I am a certified Innate Traditions postpartum care provider and educator. I have completed the childhood trauma-informed training with the Australian Childhood Foundation and have a background in workshop facilitation, community development, social change and the arts.

Please feel free to email me with any questions about my offerings.

I am passionate about birth that is safe, supported and expansive. I am passionate about the passage into motherhood being defined by love, connection and learning.
